PH showcases investment potential for sustainable aviation fuel at EUBCE 2026

The Philippines took center stage at the High-level Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Roundtable during the 34th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EUBCE 2026), positioning itself as a premier investment destination for global aviation decarbonization.

Addressing an international audience of policymakers, industry leaders, and clean energy investors, the Philippine delegation delivered a compelling presentation on the country’s readiness to scale up SAF production. The presentation underscored the Southeast Asian nation’s unique combination of abundant natural resources, forward-looking policy frameworks, and commitment to global climate targets.

During the high-level roundtable, the delegation highlighted four strategic pillars driving the Philippine SAF readiness strategy:

  • Abundant Biomass Resources: The Philippines possesses a rich and diverse supply of agricultural residues and sustainable feedstocks ideal for SAF production, offering a reliable supply chain for long-term production facilities.

  • An Expanding Investment Pipeline: The country is actively tracking and cultivating a growing portfolio of greenfield and brownfield energy projects, signaling strong commercial interest and viable pathways for foreign capital.

  • Emerging Policy Support: Government frameworks are actively evolving to incentivize renewable aviation fuels, streamline regulatory approvals, and de-risk early-stage investments for international developers.

  • Alignment with Global Standards: The Philippines is proactively harmonizing its local production criteria with rigorous international sustainability standards, ensuring that locally produced SAF seamlessly integrates into global aviation supply chains.

“The Philippines is ready to play a defining role in the future of green aviation,” the Board of Investments (BOI) said in statement. “By pairing our immense biomass capacity with a robust regulatory environment, we are not just contributing to global aviation decarbonization goals—we are opening our doors to high-value, sustainable investments that will drive green economic growth across our archipelago.”

As global airlines face tightening mandates to reduce carbon emissions, the Philippines’ proactive pitch at EUBCE 2026 establishes the country as an essential strategic partner in the global transition to net-zero aviation.

The European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EUBCE) is one of the world’s leading platforms for biomass specialists, researchers, and industry pioneers, accelerating the global transition toward a sustainable bioeconomy.
