The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is constructing additional 103 modern public utility vehicle (PUV) stops nationwide to make it more convenient and safe for the commuting public.
Transportation Secretary Banoy Lopez said this is in addition to the 24 PUV stops located in Marikina, Manila, Malabon, Quezon City, Kalibo, and Malay in Aklan province.
Meantime, 19 PUV stops are being constructed in Muntinlupa and Iloilo, while funds have been secured already for 84 PUV stops in Palayan and Science City of Muñoz in Nueva Ecija, Zamboanga, Quezon City, Calapan, Cebu City, and Mandaue, he said.

Secretary Lopez noted that passengers had a hard time waiting for PUVs during the time where there were no modern jeepneys yet.
He said the instruction of President Marcos Jr. is to build additional modern PUV stops in other areas in the country and to make these stops convenient, safe and accessible for all passengers, especially for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
Secretary Lopez said each modern PUV stop to be constructed are installed with benches, CCTV cameras, light, concrete bollard, tactile pavement, charging station, solar panels, charging station, and a bike repair station.
